There has been very little researches on family life in India. To remedy this situation CANA is giving training to carry out such researches. 

• Our students have already completed 57 research studies and the results have been compiled and made into books.
   

• This department has done two other research studies on a wider scale: one on "Family Apostolate and the Indian Church" and the other on "Urban Situations in Bombay and their influence on Family Stress". Both these studies have been published in the Indian Journal of Family Studies.
   

• Two other studies on the national level have been completed:

  • 'Alcoholism in India'

  • 'Quality of Family life in India'
      

• A scientific research study was conducted in the Archdiocese of Changanacherry, India in December 2004 on " The Eucharist-based Family Spirituality of the Catholics of the Archdiocese of Changanacehrry". The results of this study was also published in the Indian Journal of Family Studies
